Payment integration using Pin Payments

Pin Payments is a Melbourne based secure payments service that offers very flexible and powerful features supporting integration with other web sites. It has been used to accept conference payments for several meetings hosted in Register! - mainly ANZIAM meetings.

Requirements

In order to use Pin Payments to accept registration payments, you need to set up an account with Pin Payments. Since a Pin Payments account must be linked to an Australian bank account, this means you need to have authority to accept payments into a bank account. The bank account could be one that used for purposes other than the conference. In these circumstances, Register! can be configured in such a way that the reference field for each payment contains a string that allows you to identify the purpose of the payment.

Pin Payments accepts payments by Visa card Master Card or AMEX. There is a commission of 1.7% plus 20 cents per transaction, making Pin Payments about half the price of PayPal.

Advantages

Pinpayments can be linked to Register! in a way that allows secure processing of payments for conference participants, while reliably sending information back to Register! that enables Register! to keep track of payments in real time. This means the payments table in to Register! can show the current payment status of conference participants.
